Are you like me and sometimes just don’t seem to get cleaning in the routine? Are your conchos in need of a really good shine up? And probably, your leather needs oiling too! Well, this is a how to clean your conchos! Simple steps.
I’m going to be honest, I am not great at keeping things cleaned regularly and either is my husband. So, when we do get around to it, it is usually a big job. Nevertheless, if we can get good results, so can you!
First gather up your cleaning supplies. (Get our FREE Amazing Hacks To Clean Your Conchos for exactly what we use.) You will for sure need a soap, brush (we like to use a tooth brush) and rag.
Then, you will want to remove your conchos from your saddle, headstall or breast collar. There is a great tool out there for easily removing them from your saddle. So, if you can afford to buy a concho turner I would. It really speeds things up.
Next, if your conchos are really dirty I might do a pre-soak here. This could be in hot soapy water or (Get our FREE Amazing Hacks To Clean Your Conchos for exactly what we use.) Our soaking solution is my favorite hack ;).
Then, I like to take a tooth brush (it could be new or old) and scrub those conchos with soap and hot water to get all the debris out of the little engraved crevices.
Rinse now and then dry with a rag. Did more grime come off on the rag? If so, then repeat if necessary.
I like to soak them so that I don’t have to use as much elbow grease during this process. In addition, I hope these steps have served you and your cleaning needs.
