Want to get in shape for riding season?
Maybe you don’t like to work out. Maybe you have bad knees or maybe you are just really out of shape. We’ve all been there at one time or another. maybe your idea of riding is sitting on your horse in the yard…
This fall it is time to get in the “healthy saddle” and the best way to do that is to get moving. Being sedentary is the worst thing you can do for your body. So, let’s get walking.
But where do I walk you ask? How do I make it a part of my routine? How do I make walking fun?
Here are some get walking ideas just for the country guy/girl…
- Walk to check the cows.
- Hoof it to go check the horses.
- Stroll to the neighbors to visit (you know, go for a neighborly stroll).
- Saunter through horse camp to see who’s camping this weekend.
- Walk on the local track.
- Hike to the river/creek to take a dip
- And then guess what? You get to walk back 🙂
Walking is good for the heart. It can help control diabetes and anxiety. Also, it can help with weight loss and maintenance. Walking can even be good for the heart, soul and mind. It gets those feel good endorphins pumping and can make the ideas flow in our brains. Let’s get healthy the fall, ya’ll. Come on, let’s get walking.
